North Georgia Falcons win the 2004 GFL Championship
The North Georgia Falcons beat the Georgia Force 44-10 to win the first GFL Championship. The Falcons took the opening kickoff and on the second play, QB Josh Veal pass was intercepted. The Force then fumbled and the Falcons recovered. The Falcons marched 73 yards and scored on a 9 yard run up the middle by Jordan McDaniel. The 2-pt attempt was good on a run by Josh Veal (8-0). The Falcons stopped the Force on the next series and then went 45 yards and scored on a Josh Veal to Tim Famillette pass for 21 yards. The 2-pt attempt was no good. (14-0). The Falcons scored several minutes later on a Josh Veal to Colt McDaniel pass of 31 yards. The 2-pt attempt was good on a Josh Veal to Caleb Bryan pass. (22-0). The Force again was unable to sustain a drive and had to punt. Josh Veal returned the punt 90 yards for a touchdown and then scored on a QB draw to make the halftime score 30-0.
In the second half, the Falcons again got on the scoreboard when Josh Veal scored on a QB keep from 3 yards. The big play on the drive was a Jordan McDaniel to Colt McDaniel pass for 31 yards. The 2-pt attempt was no good (36-0). On the next Falcon’s possession, Tim Famillette had runs of 15 and 11 yards, before scoring on a 12 yard run. A Josh Veal to Caleb Bryan pass was successful on the 2-pt attempt (44-0). The Force then took the ball and Andrew Auton scored after turning a short pass into a long run for a score and the 2-pt attempt was good. (44-8) Several possessions later, the Force blocked a Colt McDaniel punt, however, Colt saved a touchdown by pushing the ball out of the end zone forcing a safety and giving up 2-pts instead of 6. The eight teams competing for a championship are: Barrow Christian Saints located in Winder, Georgia Force from Gwinnett County, Hill Academy Red Elephants from the Jonesboro area, NCA (Northside Christian Athletics) Lions from Woodstock, NCC Crusaders in McDonough, North Georgia Falcons playing in the Canton area, War Hill Warriors in the Cumming/Dawsonville area and West Georgia Rebels from the Buchanan/Bremem/Carrollton area.
Boys, ages 13 (born prior to August 1, 1991) to 18 (born after January 1, 1986) are eligible to play. Final Regular Season Game Results – Week 8 (Oct 15th)
Georgia Force 48 Barrow 18
The high powered offense of the Georgia Force once again was too much for Barrow. The Force ended a great regular season with a win over Barrow Christian Saints. In a game reminiscient of the first game of the season againt Barrow, the Force put up 48 points on 7 touchdowns. The Force offense racked up 364 yards and added another 110 on special teams. Andrew Auton (#43) led the team with 4 rushing touchdowns on 222 yards. Neal Touchton (#3) had 2 touchdowns including a kickoff return for a 77 yard touchdown. Neal had 132 total yards rushing and 35 yards passing for the game. Justin Reinsmith (#21) also scored on a 30 yard TD. Alex Higgins (#1) had 3 fumble recoveries and 7 1/2 tackles. Mitch Welborn (#4) had 8 1/2 tackles and 2 sacks. Eddie Jackson (#34) had 8 tackles plus a blocked punt. Kaz Takikawa (#94) had a fumble recovery for 19 yards and later scored a 2 point conversion for 21 total yards.
NCC 22 Hill Academy 14
The NCC Crusaders were able to score in the last seconds of the game to win against Hill Academy. Hill has come close in the last three games only to lose by a touchdown each time.
North Georgia 36 War Hill 20
North Georgia got it started with a 55 yard touchdown run by Jordan McDaniel on the first play after the kickoff. The 2-pt attempt was good on a Josh Veal to Caleb Bryan pass to make the score Falcons 8 War Hill 0. McDaniel scored again to open the 2nd qtr and again the Veal to Bryan combination was good for the 2-pt conversion to make the score North Georgia 16 War Hill 0. War Hill then scored on a Rowan QB sweep. NG 16 War Hill 6. McDaniel scored again this time from 43 yards and the Veal to Colt McDaniel pass was good for the 2-pt attempt. North Georgia 24 War Hill 6 at the half. War Hill scored in the 3rd qtr to cut the lead to 24-12. The Falcons started the 4th qtr with a Josh Veal to Jordan McDaniel pass to make it 30-12. NG final score came on a Veal to Colt McDaniel pass to make it 36-12. War Hill closed out the scoring with a Rowan to Burhalter pass to make the final score 36-20 With the win tonight, the North Georgia Falcons are the regular season champions, but the playoffs begin next week and the GFL Championship is up for grabs.
NCA 42 West Georgia 36 in OT
The NCA Lions avenged a season opening loss to West Georgia to win the first overtime game of the GFL season. West Georgia came back from a 28-14 deficit to take the lead 36-28 only to have NCA tie the score and send the game into overtime. West Georgia failed to score on their first possession of overtime and NCA was able to take it in for the win.

The North Georgia Falcons celebrated homecoming with an important win against NCA. The Falcons received the kickoff and scored on the second play of the game when Jordan McDaniel ran 65 yards to make it 6-0. The Falcons scored again just before the end of the 1st quarter on a Josh Veal to Colt McDaniel pass for 16 yards, making the score 12-0. After kicking off, Veal recovered a NCA fumble running it back to the 19. Two plays later, QB Veal scored on a 1 yard run to make it 18-0 which was the halftime score. Early in the 4th qtr, Veal scrambled for 55 yards and a touchdown. The 2-pt attempt was good on a Veal to Jordan McDaniel pass to make the score 26-0. NCA then march down the field and scored when QB Brandon Davis ran 4 yards. The 2-pt attempt was good, making the score 26-8. NCA got the ball back on a fumble and scored again on a Davis run to make the final score 26-14.

The Barrow Christian Saints posted its first victory of the season over the West Georgia Rebels.
NCA 30 Hill Academy 24
NCA was celebrating homecoming and got out to a big lead, however, Hill never gave up and managed to claw its way back into the game late in the 4th quarter with a couple of scores.
North Georgia 32 NCC 26
In this game, North Georgia jumped out to an 16-0 lead on two running scores by Jordan McDaniel, one on the opening drive of the 1st qtr, then one early in the 2nd qtr. NCC came back with a score on a pass from QB Brad Long to Eric Thompson to make it 16-6, then North Georgia scored again before the half to make it 24-6. NCC came back in the second half, first scoring on the opening series to make it 24-12. After both teams traded a few possessions, NCC scored on a long pass play by Brad Long to make the score 24-20. On the kickoff, North Georgia fumbled and NCC recovered. NCC then scored several plays later when Jordan Taylor eluded several would-be tacklers and ran into the end zone. NCC had come back to take the lead 26-24 with 3 minutes to play. North Georgia took over and moved downfield. With 1:27 left on the clock, the Falcons scored on a pass from QB Josh Veal to Colt McDaniel. The 2-pt attempt was good to make the score North Georgia 32 NCC 26. NCC was able to move the ball down the field but several attempts at passes close to the end zone were incomplete and time ran out on the Crusaders.
Georgia Force 54 War Hill 14
Homecoming was sweet for the Force winning decisively over the War Hill Warriors. The Force had its highest scoring game of the season scoring 7 touchdowns in the game and running for 371 yards. Though marred by penalties, the Force’s running game was effective against the Warriors.
Week 5 (Sept 24th) results

North Georgia received the kickoff and drove four plays for a score. The big play in the drive was a 34 yard run by Josh Veal. Jordan McDaniel scored on a 3 yard run and the 2-point attempt by McDaniel was good to make the score North Georgia 8-0. Later in the 1st Qtr. Barrow scored on a 2 yard by Cody Starling and the 2-pt attempt was good to tie the score 8-8. Both teams battled back and forth for field position and late in the 2nd qtr, the Falcons scored again on a 3 yard run by Jordan McDaniel. The 2-pt attempt was no good and at the half, the score was North Georgia 14 Barrow 8. In the 3rd qtr., McDaniel broke loose on a 38 yard run to score and the 2-pt attempt was no good. North Georgia 20 Barrow 8. Barrow came right back and scored on a 6 yard run by Starling. The 2-pt attempt was no good. North Georgia 20 Barrow 14. Both teams traded possessions several times. With 5 minutes to play in the 4th quarter & Barrow at the 9 yard line, the Falcons’ Tim Famillette intercepted the ball in the end zone and ran it out. On the next play, Jordan McDaniel went 73 yards for a score to make the score 26-14 and end Barrows hopes of an upset. After kicking off to Barrow, 3 plays later the Falcons intercepted the ball and ran it back to the 40. Five plays later, Famillette scored on a one yard run and the 2-pt attempt was good. Final Score: North Georgia 34 Barrow 14.
West Georgia 30 NCC 24
West Georgia took the kickoff and marched 51 yards down the field to score on 7 plays. Jesse Patterson ran 10 yards for the score. The 2 point conversion was good on a Patterson to Matt Thompson pass. West Georgia 8-0. NCC took the kickoff and answered with a 71 yard march to the end zone on 10 plays. Rebels 8 NCC 8. West Georgia then went 65 yards on 4 plays to score. QB John Marshall scored on a 40 yard QB keeper. 2 point attempt was good on a run by Les Hayes. Score: West Georgia 16 NCC 8. In the 2nd Qtr, West Georgia went 8 plays covering 75 yard and scored a touchdown when Les Hayes scored from 10 yards out. The 2 XP no good. Rebels 22 NCC 8. West Georgia scored again in the 2nd Qtr on a 7 play 78 yard drive. Jesse Patterson score on a 20 yard run. The 2 XP attempt was good. Rebels 30 NCC 8. NCC scored in the 2nd qtr. on a 45 yard TD pass. The 2-XP attempt was good. West GA 30 NCC 16. Neither team scored in the 3rd qtr. With about 5 minutes left in the 4th qtr. NCC scored on a 50 yard pass play. West Georgia then took over and ran all but about 1 minute from the clock. The game ended 30- 24 West Georgia with the NCC team never giving up and almost battling back to take the win.

Week 4 (Sept 17th) results
Georgia Force 39 North Georgia 32
You could not have asked for a better night to play and a better ballgame to be part of. The game began with North Georgia receiving the ball and driving the length of the field using up almost 8 minutes in the drive, only to be stopped at the 1 yard line. Georgia Force took over, but fumbled several plays later and North Georgia took over. The 1st quarter ended with the score 0-0. It appeared this was going to be a low scoring game. North Georgia drove the ball down to the 12, but fumbled and the Force recovered. Two plays later, the Force scored on an 80 yard run. Georgia Force was good on the 2 point attempt and the score was 8-0. North Georgia then drove down the field and scored on a one yard run. The extra point was good to make it 8-8. The Georgia Force came back down the field and settled for a field goal to make it 11-8 which was the score at half-time. It looked like this game was going to be a real defensive struggle. Georgia Force received the second half kickoff. The Force then scored again on a long run to make the score 17-8. After kicking off and stopping North Georgia at the 15, the Force was able to tackle the quarterback for a safety on a bad snap that sailed into the end zone. Force 19-8. The Force then scored again on a long run to make the score 25-8. North Georgia took the ball and scored on an 80 yard run and were good on the 2-point attempt to make the score 25-16. The Force then took the kickoff and returned it all the way. They were successful on the 2-point attempt to make the score 33-16. North Georgia scored again and were successful on the 2-point attempt to make the score 33-24. The Force were not done yet as they then scored again after a long kickoff return gave them good field position. Force 39-24. North Georgia then took the kickoff and marched down the field to score. A successful 2-point attempt made the score 39-32 with 3 minutes still to play. The Force got the ball, however, they fumbled after a few plays and North Georgia got the ball in good field position. They march down the field to the 10 yard line. On first down, a sweep around the left side resulted in a touchdown, however, the play was called back on a penalty which put the ball back on the 20. Three plays later the ball was on the 8 yard line and it was 4th and goal with less than 30 seconds to play. With the crowd on its feet, the pass attempt by North Georgia into the end zone appeared to be caught, but the referee ruled incomplete and the Force took over on downs. They ran out the clock, making the final score: Georgia Force 39 North Georgia 32. It was a great football game.

NCA scored first on a Brandon Davis to Noah Garner pass. Davis ran the 2-point attempt in to make the score 8-0. NCA scored again this time on a Davis run. The 2-pt attempt was good to make it 16-0 still in the first half. War Hill came back and scored before the half and the 2-pt attempt was good to make the score 16-6 at half-time. Neither team scored in the 3rd quarter. NCA went up 22-6 when Davis connected with Tyler Entz for a touchdown pass. War Hill came back and score to make the final score NCA 22 War Hill 14.
Week 3 (Sept 10) results
Georgia Force 46 Hill Academy 6
The Georgia Force bounced back this week with a win against Hill Academy. Justin Reinsmith (#21) had 2 rushing touchdowns and 83 yards for the game. Neil Touchton (#3) had 2 rushing touchdowns and passed for 1 touchdown. Cory Mauney (#93) scored a touchdown pass. Johnny Kelton (#5) had 1 touchdown run. Extra points were scored by Neil Touchton (#3), Justin Reinsmith (#21) and Blake Coughlin (#24). Alex Higgins had 8 tackles including 2 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery. Mitch Welborn (#4) had 10 tackles, Eddie Jackson (#34) had 3 tackles and returned a punt for 48 yards down to the 7 yard line,setting up a touchdown run two plays later.
NCA 28 Barrow 24
NCA came back from a 24-6 deficit in the 4th quarter to beat Barrow. No doubt this was a heartbreaker for Barrow as they appeared headed for their first win, but the game is not over til the last second ticks off the clock. A great come from behind win for NCA.
North Georgia 28 West Georgia 12
In the battle of unbeatens, the North Georgia Falcons prevailed. North Georgia started their second possession at the 50 yard line. The Falcons scored on a 6 yard Josh Veal to Colt McDaniel pass to lead 6-0. Two big plays in the drive were runs by Josh Veal for 18 yards and Colt McDaniel for 26. In the second quarter, Veal scored from the one yard line on the second play after passing to Colt McDaniel for 46 yards. Falcons led 12-0. West Georgia came right back and scored on a 47 yard John Marshall to Andy Thompson pass to make it 12-6. Just before halftime, North Georgia drove 75 yards in 3 plays to score again. A Veal to Colt McDaniel pass went for 30 yards. Veal then ran for 44 yards before scoring from the one. The 2 point attempt was good as Jordan McDaniel ran it in to make the halftime score 20-6. There was no scoring in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th, West Georgia returned a punt all the way to the 4 yard line, threatening to make a comeback. However, North Georgia was able to push them back and took over on downs at the 16 yard line. The Falcons then marched 84 yards on 7 plays with Jordan McDaniel scoring from 3 yards out. The big plays in the drive were a 22 and 33 yard run by Jordan McDaniel. Caleb Bryan scored on the2 point attempt to make the score 28-6. West Georgia kept battling and scored on a 26 yard pass from Jessie Patterson to Andy Thompson to make the final score 28-12.
War Hill 32 NCC 24
In a tough battlle with the lead changing back and forth, the War Hill Warriors were able to hold on and win 32-24.
Week 2 (Sept 3rd) results:

The North Georgia Falcons scored on a 4 yard run by Tim Famillette and a 22 yard run by Jordan McDaniel in the 1st quarter. The 2-pt attempts were good by Josh Veal & Billy Smallwood to make it 16-0. In the 2nd quarter, Josh Veal passed to Colt McDaniel for a 34 yard TD and to Caleb Bryan for a 6 yard TD to make it 28-0. Hill Academy then scored twice before the half and were successful in both 2 point attempts to make the half-time score 28-16. In the 3rd quarter, Colt McDaniel ran 14 yards for a TD, Josh Veal ran 90 yards for a TD, and Caleb Jefferson ran 20 yards for a TD. Jordan McDaniel scored twice on 2 point attemps and the score was 50-16 at the end of the 3rd quarter and also the final score.
War Hill 50 Barrow 34
War Hill scored three times, then Barrow scored three times and actually led at that point. The teams traded scoring, before War Hill went up for good.
West Georgia 22 Georgia Force 20
West Georgia took the opening kickoff and started on their own 14 yd line. On the second play they fumbled & the GAForce recovered, but missed a field goal on 4th down. West Ga drove the ball 63 yards to the GaForce 23 where Eddie Jackson(#34) of the GaForce picked off a pass and ran it back for a TD. GaForce scored again in the first half on a 42 yard run by Justin Reinsmith (#21), making it 14-0 in favor of the GaForce at half time. West Georgia kicked to GaForce to start the second half & stopped them at the 40 yard line. On the first play, Jesse Patterson for West Georgia (#44) ran 70 yard for a TD. The 2-point conversion was good. Score 14-8. GaForce scored on the next possession, as Justin Reinsmith (# 21) scored again on a long run. The extra point was no good. Score 20-8 in favor of the GaForce midway thru the 3rd QTR. West Georgia then scored on a 32 yard pass from John Marshall to Andy Thompson and the extra point was good. Score 20- 16 GaForce. The GaForce starts the 4th QTR out by moving the ball well. West Georgia recovered a fumble and 14 plays later, scored on a short pass to Chris Timms. The extra point was no good. Final score: 22-20 West Georgia wins in a tight one over the Georgia Force.
Week 1 (Aug 27th) results:

Georgia Force won its opening game against Barrow Christian with a commanding victory, winning 41-8. Eddie Jackson (#34) returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown in the first minute of the game to get the scoring going early. Justin Reinsmith (#21) led the team with 3 touchdown runs and 150 yards rushing for the game. Mitch Welborn’s (#4) had a 10 yard touchdown reception and Andrew Auton (#43) ran 35 yard for a touchdown.

North Georgia 28 War Hill 8
The North Georgia Falcons scored the first time they had the ball when Jordan McDaniel ran 28 yards. The extra point attempt was no good. North Georgia 6 War Hill 0. McDaniel scored again from 8 yards early in the 2nd quarter, making it 12 – 0. War Hill came back and scored on a sweep to make the score at halftime 12-6. Falcon player, David Lister, had a 55 yard punt return for a touchdown early in the 3rd quarter and the two point attempt by QB Josh Veal was good. North Georgia 20 War Hill 6. Still in the 3rd quarter, QB Josh Veal passed to Colt McDaniel for a 18 yard touchdown. The two point attempt, a pass from QB Josh Veal to Colt McDaniel was good and the score after 3 quarters was 28-6. War Hill scored on a touchback near the end of the game to make the final score 28-8.
West Georgia 28 NCA Lions 20
The game of the night was the West Georgia Rebels versus NCA Lions. The visiting Lions fell victim to the home team 28-20. Both teams had a number of opportunities to score.
